The problem I’m trying to solve:
For playing games like “The Last of Us: Remastered” and “Super Mario Galaxy” (inside of the 3D All Stars Collection) I want to be able to mark those as playthroughs in the original game rather than saying I “completed” Super Mario 3D All Stars (when really I just played Galaxy on Switch).
I techincally can just do that, but the issue is that it’s impossible to mark “The Last of Us” on my PS4/5 library and “Super Mario Galaxy” in my Switch libraby, since those SKUs weren’t techincally released for those playtforms.
There are two reasons this matters: 1. I want to be able to go see how many times I’ve played “The Last of Us” without having to remember “oh yeah techincally once on the original PS3 version, twice on the PS4 Remaster,”… etc. 2. For tracking my backlog, I want to be able to mark it for the correct platform for my library of games.
Suggested Solution:
There are probably more elegent and expensive solutions, but the simplest one I can think of would be to allow us to add our own platforms to games that aren’t “officially supported” in the backend. Like just let me say I have the original “Last of Us” on my PS5 library.
